Day 4: The Architect

After the holiday break, we are opening again the suggestion channel on Public Suggestions Board that gets updated on weekly basis.

The process is the following:
🔸 First, discuss your suggestion with the community in the #💬│suggestions-discussions channel
🔸 Once the suggestion is final and contains all the details post it in the #🎮│suggestions channel
🔸 A team member will review the suggestion and either give feedback or add the suggestion to the #📋│suggestions-vote channel
🔸 Around once per week the voted suggestions are evaluated by Game Design, a note is added on the Trello Board and they are moved to the most suitable list within the board.

Please note:
🔹 Suggestions may take up to 4 days to be processed (depending on the team availability)
🔹 Do NOT place more than one suggestion per message in the #🎮│suggestions channel
  • One starting assumption, rocks cannot be 0, because the two numbers do not add to 0.

    Assuming base 10...
    the rocks give the equation (3*r % 10) = r.
    For base 10, this is true for 0 and 5. 5 is the answer.
    That means we carry the 1 to the clay stack. now we have...
    ((3*c + 1) % 10) = r

    For base 10, this is true for 8.

    That means we carry the 2 to the wood stack.
    ((3*w + 2) % 10) = r

    For base 10, this is true for 1.

    Rock = 5, Clay = 8, and Wood = 1;

    There is no solution is base 0, 1, or 2 (There are not enough options)

    There is no solution for base 3 (The rock MUST represent 0, and if the rock is zero and the clay and wood are not 0, it is impossible to add two positive numbers to get 0)

    However, base 4 is the really interesting question to answer. In base 4, there are four symbols. This means that In base 4 I can provide the answer to "What is the value of the crop symbol?"

    the rocks give the equation (3*r % 4) = r.

    For base 4, this can only be 0 or 2. So 2.

    That means we carry the 1 to the clay stack. now we have...

    ((3*c + 1) % 4) = r

    For base 4, this is true for 3.

    That means we carry the 2 to the wood stack.

    ((3*w + 2) % 4) = r

    For base 10, this is true for 0.

    Rock = 5, Clay = 8, and Wood = 0;

    That leaves crop to be 1 ;)

    My answer:

    Starting with stone: 3x5=15 the only possible combination where I would get the same number as if multiplied by itself x3.

    Brick: (8x3)+1=25, giving me another 5.

    Lumber: (1x3)+2=5, also giving 5.

    185+185+185=555 ^^

  • The answer is

    Iron = 5

    Clay = 8

    Wood = 1

    1 ( Wood ) 8 ( Clay ) 5 ( Iron )
    1 ( Wood ) 8 ( Clay ) 5 ( Iron )
    + 1 ( Wood ) 8 ( Clay ) 5 ( Iron )
    5 ( Iron ) 5 ( Iron ) 5 ( Iron )

  • :lumber: = 1

    :clay: = 8

    :iron: = 5
