As presented here, our candidates to be the next Anglosphere ambassadors are:
I am currently playing on the Cay account in the Travian Special Server: Shadow Empires America x1
I am a founding member of Gaul Lives Matter
The sister alliances include:
Teuton Lives Matter
Hun Lives Matter
Egyptian Lives Matter
Roman Lives Matter
Our goal is to win this server by integrating our New, Old, English Speakers, Spanish Speakers, and Gold players into a cohesive group and get into as many wars as pos--err grow as much as possible and leave the other territories alone.
My most recent Travian saga has been predominantly in the Travian Kingdom COM servers for much of the last 5 years. I started a little group known as Brute Squad Aka BS and played as Imperial back in 2015 and kinda just went from there. My badges tell me I've been on 6 winning teams, and on 3 losing teams, along with a bunch of other shiny goodies.
I started playing back in 2007 at the ripe old age of 13. I was lucky enough to join the winning ally and the best ally I have ever played with to date. W.E. aka Wolves Empire of US 1x Round 1, Server 1 and I played on the account Thy_Life_of. I managed to accumulate 26 villages, a 250k World Wonder hammer, and a role in leadership. The next year we did it again as defending champions but came up short for the Win. By mid Freshman year I had already finished 2 full servers in a state of constant war.
Over the years, my love for Travian has always been constant--but I have no love for the endgame. I can't stand the same old WW build up. Yes they've made some adjustments over time--but after the 20th time it's like come on! what else is there!
Then in 2017 the Fire & Sand Server were released and they didn't have World Wonders!!! I mean yes I got catapulted out of the server by a massive account with 20 arty powers! But still there was no endgame!
In 2018 Path to Pandora was an improvement--Catapulted :o
2019 Codex Victoria so much more balanced and I'm sure I wouldn't have been catapulted if I wasn't 3 weeks late.
Alas, we have made it to the 2020 Special Travian Empires! The server I've been dying for. The best of Kingdoms and the best of Legends ready for a test drive.
I've personally seen an influx of new players, or returning players who haven't played in so long they are basically new players. This is a good sign to me and hopefully we can get back to those 10k servers and create new play styles and game dynamics along the way with community-driven research.
In my personal life I am a contractor and I have experience as a community organizer working for public sector unions. I'd love to work with the Travian community to come up with the best game that the players are asking for--and give the developer the steps to achieve the ambitious goals the US server will be providing.
My name is Andrew and I have always played under the alias WdwndSpecialist since discovering in 2006 the best cure to my Civilization addiction was adopting a game that never stops running.
I believe in fair competition and have adhered to a personal code of always playing solo (no duals), no multis/techs, and not abusing loopholes for my own benefit.
A victory is most meaningful when it’s earned right and that also means losing with dignity when outmatched.
This is a game that needs to remain fun for both old and new players, so I hope to continue the recent improvements that encourage fair competition.
I am also a great listener and know the best ideas come from listening to many sources. I possess a Bachelors in Political Science and choose a career serving others. I hope to further serve this community by leading conversations, organizing new thoughts, and providing useful information to Travian that will continue to improve aspects of a game I have been emotionally attached to for over a decade.
In addition to current implements curbing multi/tech accounts, I want to focus on supporting new players and encourage ideas that grow the Anglosphere servers. I enjoy running into the same people, but our community needs growth. We need to both attract and keep someone interested in the same game for several months, and then make them want to do it again. While I prefer normal speed servers, I know the attention span it takes isn’t for everyone and new players might stick around to the end if the finish line was actually within eyesight.
I sincerely hope to have the chance to hear everyone’s opinions and work with you to develop new ideas to better a game we mutually enjoy. I also want to say congratulations to Travian’s other candidate choice and look forward to discussions with you in either capacity.
Please don't hesitate to ask them some questions before making up your mind!
