Thanks for sharing that, Final Word. That was an interesting read . At least I find it interesting to read backstory about the teams, thought processes and decisions. The BG style of fighting can certainly impact a couple of these stats. Based on my own experiences I do think that these closer distance type of fights that the BG style usually revolves around tend to be more scrappy. Which is not to say bad, but perhaps less planned out and a bit more opportunistic if that makes sense.
"5) Top two contenders focused away from each other until late, and TEAM ended up being the one squashed in the middle."
I feel like this happens often and that a rework of the map/regions/VP distribution would be good.I hope that there will be more shared stories & more reports too!
Thanks for the pictures, Kazah.
I think, I expected the anglosphere ptp to be bloodier and was surprised to see that it looked relatively calm. However, as Basher wrote, there might be a lot more hammers around there still, that's impossible to know from an outside perspective. Overall, the anglosphere ptp certainly seems more competitive and I do believe that I've seen KGW be on top of the VP/day at times not too long ago which probably brought hope to the victory race. It would be interesting to read more from another perspective as well.
The .com had potential to be tight as there were times in the first half when the VP lead (both total & daily) was starting to look hard to eat up. Similarly there was some hope when Elite, TVV and TK allied up and were running some attack operations. It was on the late side of things, where they probably felt like they needed big results which didn't come. I guess Elite, TVV and TK had their own set of problems as well that made it hard for them to fulfill their potential, which might not have been enough either way, but I'm sure it could've been more than it amounted to. However, it's hard to bring together people and get them to commit to a plan. In all likelihood we had some of the same issues in Lords two years ago on the RoA server, so I can relate to that.
My thought behind making this thread wasn't to say that Heathens is better than everyone else, but I think they have worked hard and wanted to add a perspective that showcases this a bit.
If this was a comment for me, I didn't say anything about growing less :? I said that on a larger map, you can take regions by simming more easily than on the smaller map, since regions will be less contested. You might have thought I meant simming as in higher pop, but that is not what I meant. On the larger map, you can easily settle in "boonies" to get control of regions, while the smaller map is a lot thighter.
Now, you didn't post the stats for population, but if I read this right, the players on anglo have more pop? That actually further underlines the point - more pop is needed to take control of regions than on .com = most likely more competitive.
Anyway, I'm not flaming any team, nor saying that one is better than the other or not - just that from the stats, anglo one looks more competitive.
The population is quite even, the players in TM and KGW are slightly bigger on average, but they're not using all the 60 slots.Alliance Player(s) Ć Points

The growing less part was about what Frozen Angel wrote:
"Fourth point is that the English server had more competitions in early and mid server - which caused everyone to grow less. when you're busy fighting over stuff you grow less right?"
The nonsense comment wasn't good, shouldn't have made it, but it wasn't directed towards Frozen Angel. Rather some other comments I've come across before making the thread. I'd be grateful if we can move past that -
Less so to those who splats, deletes and writes nonsense.
This line of mine was not meant for you specifically. Sorry. It's more that I think a lot of players and teams in general give up prematurely.
the english server had a lot of drama. I personally deleted mid server and I'm not really biased with any alliance which was in there - I had friends in kgw, tm and team so there is that before a new drama starts here lol
Also about heathens, I was closely observing the game. My only point was that heathens had a very predictable and easy win - not that its not significant or they shouldn't be congrated at. As a third party observer who was not on server I think I can say that much.
Besides, I thought you meant that you deleted mid-server on the .english one and didn't play the .com one, but rather was a third party observer on .com? Poorly phrased by me probably, my bad.
-
Not sure why it's important that travian decided to put .english instead of .anglosphere. If you are on any of the anglosphere domains and log into their path to pandora server - that's the one you're logging into?
The raiding has been lower throughout on the other one, it's easy to confirm by just checking quickly on the medals for KGW/Heathens. Not sure which major alliance wars you're referring to either. I also don't understand the leap between the teams with players with higher population, but lower off/def points "having grown less due to competition and being busy fighting".TM/KGW are certainly more evenly matched than Heathens and any one alliance on the .com server. Elite got a large part of their VP from getting a couple of those high VP regions in SE very early on. It should be noted too that Elite, TVV and TK are allied.
Just want to clarify that I have not played the server, but I have ties to Heathens and I have followed things and I do think they deserve credit for the things they have achieved. They've run operations for most of the server and they've defended what has been thrown at them.
I'd also like to take the opportunity to give some extra credit to everyone who hangs in there to the end of the servers. Who can handle suffering losses, coming back and continue to fight. That shows character.
Less so to those who splats, deletes and writes nonsense.
-
I've made a little statistical comparison with the path to pandora server over on Anglosphere. The Anglosphere counterpart was hyped up to be a much more competitive server and on the smaller map. Several former winners that should have all the strategy and fighting down on top of the smaller map that should result in more fighting seemed interesting. However, the results have been rather surprising.
(A sidenote & small response to the other thread, if Heathens continue to win this server which looks like the most likely outcome at this point it is in no way a less significant win than the other winners I have experienced on the .com domain.)

Hello,
I have one that is a little older that might sneak in on the lower end of the list for romans by the looks of it (depending on where the cut-off is). It's from com6 in 2012-13.

NE is not the default quad. It is just suggested more often as others in the European Map.
The reason is that the quad does not host any sea part, therefore it has a big territory (land) and has more spawn points then others. This is why it is recoomanded more often. Jake is having a look to the process.I think overall it'd be a good idea to have a map rework?
It has been the same for at least 3 birthday specials in a row now, this one included, combined with the same win conditions if you don't count the minor tweak to make SE more favourable by replacing the fools' regions with VP regions.
Perhaps put the unique VP region at Aquileia (centre of the map) to make it a more viable strategy to try and conquer the most central areas instead of just simming outwards.
Especially if travian are really sticking with the bigger map on com.
(Which I do think is a foolish move... The smaller map was a great move and I didn't hear complaints about that at least)Maybe it's too close timewise now, but it'd sure make things more interesting in my opinion. The map as is now is not balanced. NE espcially is a bad area to be in.

Foolsā second half of the server
(Keep in mind that a vast majority of the text below was written as MMs to the members in Fools and that was the target audience for them. We have not saved all reports from enemy operations on us and have cherry picked defensive reports to post in our MMs.)
After the war against LOK was concluded we were at a position where we held the regions that we had thought of as our core regions to acquire and we had acquired an additional set of regions through our early-midgame wars.
At this point it was quite clear that TM was starting to pull ahead both in terms of VP/day as well as in the total VP. TM had been looking like the strongest team since the start although Bali-Go had done a good job keeping up in the VP for the first half of the server. Therefore we thought our only sensible play was to do what we could to try to slow down TM while we look at ways to conquer more regions simultaneously.
This led to Fools-S invading Girba and later Ammon through Sahara with the purpose to try to block two 100 VP/day regions from our enemies. (Girba was under the control of Bali-Go, but TM had a quite strong presence there as well while Ammon was under TMās control). As well as attack operations that we focused on tm+Juvenalis to begin with as we figured their def would support TM if they needed it and we wanted to keep conquering more regions which made Castra Regina our first goal.

Hello Fools!
Last night we had another attack operation and this time we went on TM/tm. The overall result was pretty good, but unfortunately we had a group of people who did not show up and some who might have attacked, but have not sent the reports to me yet. Anyhow, really good work to all involved!
About the operation:
We walked with a bit over 30 hammers out of which 3 hammers got walled and the rest are intact. The walled ones were boovana, Meldy and Nor1. Our hits almost exclusively targeted support villages in this round.Reports.

Hello Fools!
We had another round of attacks on tm this morning and this time we changed up the main objectives a bit compared to the previous round that was mostly a chain of hits on supports in Castra Regina/Marcomanni.
This time we went more player focused. Lyric, Viper, Harkonnen, Rumen and Kontorstol were the ones that received most of the hits. All of the above mentioned players got visits in their capitals and one or more support villages.
I think this was a succesfull operation where we caused significant damage to five of their accounts.
TM and tm are however competent defensively and have a lot of defensive players. When we attack with as many hammers as we do it's pretty much unavoidable that some of us will run into defense and suffer losses, however keep in mind that it's their villages who get damaged and needs to be rebuilt as well as troops replaced while we just replace troops for now.
We lost three entire hammers: toph bei f0ng, Isis, bob rock.
We lost 70% of pekos' hammer and 65% of carbine's hammer. However, we have some hammers that have been rebuilding and some who were not available this time who are ready to step up as well. This will be a war of attrition and it is crucial that we keep hitting and keep rebuilding our hammers.

Hello Fools!
I am writing this because we want to be transparent about what's going on and we think you deserve to know.
There has been some talk in chat about us and Bali-Go. We decided to reach out and make a proposal which in short was:
1. Fools get massalia.
2. BG get tolosa
3. We are willing to help them out in Girba as a gesture of goodwill.
4. No further settling/chiefing/contesting in each otherās regions. For some reason Bali-Go wanted Massalia as well. We've worked hard for our regions and we've held Massalia since it was unlocked. We weren't willing to back on that. So there will not be any agreement and I am guessing that we will have to expect continued skirmishes.
We gave it a shot because we thought it'd be the best bet for being able to give TM a run for their money. However, we're still a strong team with a lot of fight in us so we'll keep rolling and continue as we are. No panic
Keep going strong, team!
Cheers,

Our offense
We've attacked them as well and most battles have taken place in the Massalia region which is worth 100 VP/day and they seem eager to take out of our hands. We dropped below 50% for a few hours after their attack operation, but we retaliated as you can see below.

Filler text for context: The objective for the attack operations at this time was to clear out Bali-Go as much as we could from āourā regions that they were contesting (Burdigala, Pictavium, Massalia). While we were running on the operation on the evening of the 18th Bali-Go invaded us in Nemausus as well, adding another region to the list of regions they were contesting of ours. Text from MM starts below this.
Hello Fools,
Attack operation
This morning we ran an attack operation against Bali-Go again. We hit them across the border regions.
A few more attackers than before were not available, but overall pretty good turnout and a good job by those who could participate. We believe next time we'll be able to show up with better numbers as well!
Even though the participation was a bit lower, we show up with around 20 hammers if the count is about correct. Which is not bad at all. Some extra participated with fakes only as well. Our main strength lies in our number of attackers, which is very good. So we need to keep up the good work there!

Filler text for context: At this point TM had also started invading regions of ours through natars that had been left around. The regions of choice were Bagacum and Treverorum. In addition to this they ran an attack operation the night after if my memory serves me right. Around this time we felt pressured and we came to the conclusion that our best course of action was to commit full out to a war on Bali-Go. The chance of overthrowing TMās lead was small if we had had our NAP proposal accepted by Bali-Go and both teams fought TM simultaneously, but with Bali-Go and TM both invading our areas we felt that it was not feasible to think that we could go to war on TM and come out successful, therefore we decided to put full focus on our closer and more aggressive enemy, Bali-Go. Here we also shifted Fools-S invasion from TM's Ammon to Bali-Go's Volubilis. Text from MM goes below.
Hello everyone!
We're in for an interesting time now with both TM and Bali-Go moving in on our regions and while things can feel tough - We should bear in mind that erasing accounts and doing substantial damage is hard and requires a lot of commitment.
When under attack:
We need to be persistent in running artefacts, sniping catapult waves and rebuilding villages. We can not defend everywhere when they roll on us, so we simply have to prepare ourselves for doing some remodeling of our villages as time passes by.Hopefully we will get some good predictions soon and take out some hammers from them as well
Good job with the resource pushes too, it is crucial that we show that we're there for each other! Thanks everyone who helped out.

Hello Fools!
Last night we had another attack operation against us by Bali-Go. They targeted two of our players, s9mho and Endworldpeace.
Overall this was a better showing from us as a team than some of the previous ones, both in terms of that we caught hammers and in terms of that i think we had more defense active and moved to locations we believed in. Good job by everyone who was part of this!
Forwarded troops
Before summarizing the events, I want to adress something that keeps coming up in connection to defense calls. If you forward troops to a def call and want them to be forwarded back to a specific location - Always write an igm to the person you've forwarded to and specify where you want which troops to go. Also keep in mind that when forwarding troops back the defender has to feed the troops for a lot longer, so help out appropriately with crop!It is a really tough task for the defender to memorize where individual units were forwarded from, so communication is key and the main responsibility is on the person who forwards the troops. Talk to each other and do your best
At s9mho's place they targeted eight villages, I believe, and went through clean on six of them. On the last two, we got the better of them though. Taking out two of their hammers for damage on six support villages seems like a decent trade for us, I'd say.
Converter - Battle reports Travian
With that said, please help out s9mho with resources to rebuild his villages:
Resources can be sent to 00 Glory or Valhalla ā(-100|-15)ā.These pushes are important to get damaged accounts up and fully operational as quickly as possible. It is an important part of our defense - so please do your best for each other!
At Endworldpeace's place things went worse for us and it comes down to two points that everyone has to do their best to follow:
1. Report all incomings.
2. Run appropriate artefacts. When there are multiple attackers on a non-capital village = Always run confusion, either a small one for each village or the unique one and it'll cover the whole account.
Now four villages were chiefed without confusion being activated and it hurts both the individual account and the team as a whole.
Let's learn from this, have positive attitude and keep improving!

There has been a lot of movements recently. Mainly defensive ones and I'll try to re-cap a bit.
Last night we held another attack operation against Bali-Go. This time we had 24 players involved with real attacks who have sent me reports. That is a strong number, but I believe that we can bring in more. We've had more attackers in the past and I am optimistic that we will be able to throw a few more hammers into the mix soon. Good stuff!
We think that as we move forward we will have both The brick and D&E plan operations so we can attack more frequently. Tem is also contributing with planning for Fools-S.
No hammer was completely walled this time. Although Rotta22, Diana and Spirit ran through some def!

This is perhaps the part those who haven't kept up with the chats have been waiting for after our def movements last night.
We received incoming on Endworldpeace again and I think Bali-Go simply misjudged the situation and underestimated both Endworldpeace and our team as a whole. As mentioned in a previous MM that they managed to chief there in their last operation, they probably expected to just waltz in and steal some new villages.
However, this time the incoming attacks were reported quickly and from there it was a huge team effort! From sending def, sending crop, building up walls and granaries to just forwarding all the def again. Amazing!
Before we show off the reports - I just want to say that I'm really proud of you all, this was really nice and it's important to capitalize when they make sloppy moves like this!

Hello Fools!
We had a good attack operation landing yesterday where we managed to walk through without anyone losing their entire hammer, although Gautama got substantial losses. I am sure that if we keep up the pressure and everyone does their best to participate every time - if you're unable to participate make sure you write to leadership as soon as possible to let them know - then we'll be able to find the upper hand on the front against Bali-Go. We're doing good work there!
We rolled with 16 hammers this time, let's try to roll with at least 20 hammers next round!
We've admittedly had more issues with the operations from TM, mostly because they (like us) show up with many hammers in sync and they also have quite strong hammers which makes the situation tough for us. Last night Overflow, Ma3rouf, Jonce777 and Car carevic received hits on their capitals and while all are doing OK in terms of coping, I'd like everyone to spare some merchants and support their rebuilding. Keep in mind that croplands in the capital are expensive, so send what you can.

Hello Fools!
While we are working intensely on our Bali-Go front, we need to beware on our front towards tm. Mainly in Castra Regina, try to keep the level 20 treasury open at all times if possible to activate the unique confusion or have a level 10 treasury in every developed village in that region and let that treasury be open to run a small confusion.
We can not keep letting tm chief villages for free and the artefacts are our primary defense against that.
This morning we had another round of attacks against Bali-Go and we only lost one hammer which ran a bit late and therefore with less cover. It can happen though and I'm sure that hammer will be up and running soon again! Some losses have to be expected and we just have to keep rebuilding.I wrote that we rolled with 16 hammers in the last operation and that I hoped we could bring it up to 20 hammers to this operation. As it turns out we had 20 players participating in this operation and since some players either split hammers or used multiple hammers I believe we totaled around 30 real hits, although closer to 25 hammers.
Either way, terrific job everyone!
Now let's keep this up and whoever sits on a hammer that has not been participating yet, please write to boovana !

Hello Fools!
We had another attack operation against Bali-Go landing this morning (6/2). This time we lost two hammers and had overall a bit worse participation rate than the previous one, 17 players participated and sent in reports. It's not horrible by any measure, but we can do better.
Luckily we should not have long until our next operation, new chances to prove ourselves! The overall result was pretty good, but as it usually is - a bit of a mixed bag this time as well. The most positive part from our point of view is easy to spot, just take a look at NEMEEBE. He was over 6,000 pop somewhere in late december/early january and now there's not much left. On the downside, we suffered losses in terms of Pekos&Pekos' capital hammer and Boban_Rajovic's hammer.
Recap
Before going into the reports, I'd like to make a throwback to around the time when the fighting with Bali-Go escalated. Around that time we were down below 50% in massalia at one brief point (after their first OP), pictavium was down to 62% at some point there and burdigala to 64%.After our recent efforts massalia is up to 62.94%, pictavium 68.2% and burdigala at 65.71% despite Bali-Go managing to chief four villages from us there. They are also contesting us in Nemausus which they have managed to bring down to 70.65%. Their aggression have at least temporarily slowed down while we ran four operations in the last 9 days. This does take a toll on them, I can promise that.
Good job, but we need to keep this up if we really want to reap the rewards and try to conquer some region from them!

Hello Fools!
We had yet another attack operation landing last morning on Bali-Go. These MMs might start to become repetitive, but hopefully it's still pleasant reading material!
There are two things I'd like to stress on a bit before we get to how it went down.
1. If you have offensive troops + 200 catas or more in a village. Write to boovana and we'll include you in the attack operations.
2. Please send in your attack reports to boovana after the operation.Alright! So what happened?
This time around there were a few capital hits added into the mix: Kobo, Aurora and Nemeebe were the ones whose capitals got hit. Aurora also received hits on a group of support villages. We went through on all capitals and did good damage. Especially on Aurora's account who did not only get the damaged capital, but lost a total of about 2600 pop in the operation.
This also meant that Bali-Go's percentage in Tolosa changed quite a bit.
Before the operation: 1 Bali-Go 53,45%
After the operation: 1 Bali-Go 49,19%Now they are frantically rebuilding and have managed to get it up a bit:
1 Bali-Go 50,53%However, all these resources going into rebuilding villages and in some cases not even rebuilding villages still result in a lot of resources not going into replacing the dead troops on their side.
We had losses on our side as well in terms of troops. Chapapa lost 120k off troops, but still have enough troops for it to be a capable hammer. We also lost VZMTV's hammer unfortunately.
Overall, I still think this was a terrific operation for us. Really big damage on one of their major accounts. Two heavily damaged capitals and a third capital that lost 8 croplands. Master received some hits again as well and does not seem to rebuild well. Add to that that Renault Kh and Memento Mori has deleted and TSAR seems to not be active right now, it is obvious that we are doing good progress.
Keep it up everyone!

Hello Fools!
Yesterday morning we had another attack operation that landed on Bali-Go. With that operation, plus a chiefing by s9mho we now have taken over the control over Tolosa from Bali-Go. We will however need to keep up pressure with the operations as well as keep building on our villages in the region so that we keep the control.

This operation came with a simultaneous invasion of Tarraco. With the attacks and chiefings we dropped Bali-Go's population in the region with 3.3k while we have gained from 0 population to almost 4k pop (almost 20% control). Great job!
We also took the opportunity to go through two Bali-Go capitals, stankovav's and savovp's, succesfully. On the downside, XxspencerxX lost his hammer - I'm sure he'll rebuild and be back on the battlefield with us soon though!

Hello Fools!
Here's an update on our latest attack operation and our recent defensive efforts
Defensively:
Storm:
Converter - Battle reports TravianBonnie:
Converter - Battle reports Travian
Converter - Battle reports TravianShadowmourne:
Converter - Battle reports TravianAs we can see we've had the honour of catching some nice looking Bali-Go hammers now. Both Bonnie's and Storm's accounts were deleted shortly after these attacks.
We can only speculate on why exactly they are deleting, but I think it's fair to say that it's another sign pointing towards us getting upper hand in our battle against Bali-Go.Offensively:
This morning we executed another attack operation on Bali-Go and although there are a bunch of reports missing that have not been sent in to me - I will show you the ones that I have received below as usual.
In the operation Bali-Go went down 1680 pop in Narbo, 180 pop in Emporiae, 275 pop in Tarraco and 700 pop in Tolosa. Combined with s9mho chiefing two villages and Bonnie+Storm deleting we've now conquered Tolosa again, while Bali-Go have lost control over Volubilis.
Fools-S have been working nicely on Volubilis for a while now, but Bali-Go can still take control over that region again by shuffling in some players from BG2 so we will need to keep it up. It will continue to be important to put in work there and Girba for at least a while longer!
Fools main now gets 920 VP/day.
Bali-Go gets 880 VP/day.All of Girba, Tarraco, Emporiae and Narbo are now steadily dropping in population and percentage.
Fools-S/BG2
Keep in mind that we've achieved this without sacrificing regions in Fools-S who control 5 regions (240 VP/day) compared to BG2 who lost all their regions to Bali-Go a while back to keep up their VP in the main alliance. BG2 had 160k population back in mid January and are down to below 80k population now, while Fools-S is at an all-time high population. There is a huge discrepancy between what Fools-S bring to the table and BG2.Good job everyone!

We've had two attack operations since I wrote last, one landing on Wednesday and one that landed today.
The first operation did some decent damage, but came with the cost of Romeo Alfa's hammer, Big_Guy's hammer and two of Ma3rouf's hammers while we did some overall damage on the front. Most damage was dealt in Tolosa and then some smaller damage in Pictavium, Burdigala, Tarraco and Emporiae.

Hello everyone,
We had another attack operation landing on the 23rd. There were more than usual who could not participate this time, but I hope it's a one-off kind of thing and we'll be back in full force for the next operation. The result of this operation was still very good for us. No hammers were lost while two Bali-Go capitals were successfully attacked, Mari's and Linda&pe4enija's. Notably Linda&pe4enija's capital went down to around 150 population and three villages were chiefed from that account as well between operations.
Our Tarraco/Emporiae colony is looking very successfull at the moment and we now control both regions. Really well done!

Hello Fools!
Another very positive attack operation. This time around there were no major losses on our side. Once again Bali-Go are not on the top 10 climber's list for alliances while Fools and Fools-S are up 9.3k and 6.9k pop respectively this week. Really nice!
The main recipients of our hits on Bali-Go were in the Saguntum region and mostly the account backfromthedead. Bali-Go dropped 4500 pop in Saguntum and backfromthedead dropped around 2200 population of that including a lot of damage on the capital!
They also lost 1500 pop in Pictavium where most of the hits were on Master, but notably TSAR had eight croplands get lowered from lvl 19 to lvl 15. Unfortunately they sniped the remaining waves there.

Hello Fools!
The attack operation this morning
Really good job once again with the attack operation this morning. We did not lose any full hammers this operation from what I've seen even though Overflow ran through an incredible amount of defense and a couple of hammers got some of their catapults sniped.
Overflow's hammer is still well-sized and I am sure everyone are already working at replacing their lost catapults.
Bali-Go lost around 700 pop in Tolosa as well as around 4000 pop in Narbo. The Tolosa damage was done on Aurora's capital which went down to 262 pop and most of the damage in Narbo was on Svetla_80's account which also had its capital go down to 41 pop.
Bali-Go's population in Narbo is now down to 3619 population and we're about 2000 population behind that. With their population continously decreasing we should be able to catch up fairly quickly if we just settle some villages and build them up! Svetla_80 lost what seems to be all his catapults in the capital on some desperate attacks now following the damage he took and he is the one that has caused our villages there some issues.
So let's pop hard in Narbo now and conquer the region!

Hello Fools!
Op Summary
Another good operation this morning where we suffered some losses, but a large majority of our hammers are still intact and the ones who suffered should be able to rebuild into a functional state quickly again. The pros heavily outweigh the cons. Bali-Go lost more troops than we did, while also losing 1.4k pop at Aurora, Master's capital got completely zeroed and his hammer with over 100k clubbies is gone thanks to our attacks. We paid the prize with a couple of hammers, but that is also what we have made them for. Worthwhile to note that it is important to arrive as close to the designated landing time as possible.
All-in-all, well done everyone!

The attack operation & invasion
We had yet another attack operation this morning. By the looks of it we have not suffered major losses although not all reports have been sent in yet. Pokys89 in Bali-Go dropped from around 11.7k pop to 7.7k pop, that's 4k pop down and his capital got removed completely.
I'd also like to bring some attention to the fact that if we just push a bit more in Narbo we should be above 50% shortly. Saguntum and Numantia are coming along as well.23. Narbo 3736 46,93%
25. Saguntum 2769 19,06%
29. Numantia 1928 6,18%Those who want to chief are free to chief natars in Numantia.

Hello Fools!
War summary!
This was quite the eventful morning, possibly the bloodiest of the server. With about one million dead troops for both us and Bali-Go. We lost some of our biggest hammers while Bali-Go lost a lot of their def.
Def being easier to replace, it was crucial that we also did the damage that we managed to do. Pa_KleopotroTO went down 4.8k pop and the capital, which had impressive level 20 fields, went down to 200 something pop. We also chiefed two villages off Wiragalleng in Numantia.
Before operation: 11. Numantia 22052 77,48%
After operatioon: 12. Numantia 15934 65,49%Certainly a high prize this time, but this is also what we've made our bigger hammers for. To give us the capability of going into these bigger capitals.
Just as before: Now we rebuild and come back again within a few days!Reports:

Hello Fools! *cute*
Another attack operation was executed this morning and once again we rolled against Bali-Go in the border regions in Spain. We went through on two capitals, Fleur's and tuesizaltys', and a group of villages - mostly in Carthago Nova. As a result of this our regional control has increased by quite a bit there as a combination of these hits and the chiefings that have been done on some Bali-Go accounts in the area.
Saguntum however has dropped since last due to mainly Fleur causing some destruction around there with his hammers. It's tricky to defend so far from our core areas, but hopefully we'll catch him soon !
22. Numantia 9373 56,66%
25. Carthago Nova 7046 39,59%
26. Saguntum 5506 38,39%Unfortunately BlackPlague and VZMTV got caught by Bali-Go's defense, otherwise our losses were low.

Attack Operation
I'm a bit late with the MM this time as our attack operation landed yesterday. The main target for the operation was Aurora in Bali-Go who dropped from 17.5k pop to 13.8k pop with a nice string of hits on the capital included. After this she put herself into vacation mode which led to our control over Saguntum jumping up drastically.
21. Saguntum 7260 66,48%
In other positive news, both Mediolanum and Carthago Nova are increasing as well. We need to put in a bit more effort here though to be able to think of them as stable regions, but good progress anyhow.
25. Carthago Nova 8361 51,41%
26. Mediolanum 41357 50,21%With this we're up to 26 regions for Fools main. Great job!

Big thanks to everyone else who have played the server and made it what it was. I hope youāve had a good time too!

The limitation, as is, that you can't merge siege is quite powerful as you are limited in what you can do with a hammer without sufficient siege and building up the siege in itself takes time that you can't get around.
Also merging several hammers into one can be strong, but on this server format you don't need the endgame hammers that you need for the WW type servers. I think there are many arguments for having more hammers rather than a less, but powerful ones on this version.
However, as I mentioned after the ROA server last year - it does feel bad when you wall a hammer and it's merged up into something significant in what feels like too fast
With that said, I would not complain if merging got nerfed/changed in some way either. I think you're overestimating the importance of this.

We thought we'd share some of the Fools' story from the server. The server isn't quite finished yet, but I figured we'd make it as a throwback for nostalgia for our own team too and we'll start with an old story that is finished.
Enter mid/late November Fools had conquered most of their ācore regionsā and were looking for where to focus the expansion next. The first war against Pride/Samurai had been won and LOK with their seven regions (Lutetia + the British islands) became the next target.
Letās skip the talk about reasons etc and jump into the reports and the battle summaries! I just want to mention that LOK was a very respectable opponent and the people I encountered gave good impressions. The text below is mostly cut straight from old MMs so please keep in mind that our team (Fools) was the target audience at the time.
Cheers!
23/11
Hello Fools!
Settling strategy
Our main target for regions now are the regions that LOK control north of us. They have 7 regions that are worth 270 VP/day, including a small trainer which I know some of our players have been asking for.
This will be a challenge and LOK will give us a fight here, but we believe that we have good chances to take their regions!
This will however require settling in hostile regions which takes some extra caution.Cheers and good luck with the settling!
25/11
Today we had our first attack operation against LOK to support our settling and to try to establish more of a presence in the area.

Hello Fools!
Update
This morning we had another operation against LOK. Now we are capturing two of their former regions and a third one is very close to 50% as well.
This means that the settling and chiefing will now also be directed to their remaining regions. So don't be surprised if you're assigned to settle in Caledonia or Hibernia even though we have no presence there yet. Someone's got to be first!
Regarding the regions, we're also continuing our works on the other fronts and trying to maintain our control over the regions we have there so not everyone will be required to go up to the previously mentioned regions, but Alanas (Romeo Alfa) will write with details.
This operation we suffered a loss in the form of Gautama's hammer as it seems like LOK put together a defensive effort for the player Tempo. Nor1 also ran into a defensive wall. PanPS changed capital to stop a chief attempt from us, otherwise all went well.
The Durnonovaria region which we are capturing now has the small trainer which halves training time in the village it is active and might be useful for those who need to build/rebuild troops quickly.

This morning we landed once more in LOK territory with our hammers. Our control in Corinium went up with about 10% and is now up to almost 44%. Nicely done there everyone!

Really well done by everyone involved with conquering the British islands from LOK. The LOK alliances have disbanded and this should clear the path for us to finish the job and capture the remaining regions within short. There is still some work to be done!Cheers!

Rumors are that TM, Bali-Go will play the server. I heard boodil will bring a team as well
Rumors are that I am both late on the ball and I can't seem to figure out how this forum works..
We're here with some fools though so maybe it is fitting and I think things look interesting so far!
Impressive with chiefing already, well done !

I second the already made comments, I think they are all valid.
A smaller map sounds terrific, regardless if you choose to keep the server length as it is (although a shorter server does sound reasonable). Settling outwards for regions that give victory points does not result in interesting gameplay. A tighter map could force alliances to be more aggressive.
I really enjoyed a server without auctions/adventures and I hope they are not re-introduced to the next anniversary server.
For the rest, I'll just copy-paste what I wrote about the features from the RoA sub-forum:
"I really like the forwarding feature. It simply makes sense and brings in more options for teamplay.
With similar reasoning I think the regional system giving a lot more players access to artefacts and added incentives for fights throughout the server is really good. It was a pain trying to hit through all those architects/confusions. The larger gold users are heavily benefited there.
In a similar fashion merging with gold is pretty ridiculous in how fast you can build up a hammer and by-pass the resource costs for great barrack/stable or merging for resources. Only benefits the larger gold users though. I think it's sort of balanced on this type of server as major hammers for natar clearing and ww hits are not necessary, it's mainly how fast hammers can be rebuilt by merging that is obnoxious.
Both merging and artefacts have the capability to give an account more resources in exchange for splashing gold unlike the NPC feature. (By merging with gold you can train at the pace of great barrack/stable without paying the extra resource cost. Several diets/boots also result in more resources.) I think some sort of limitation should be in place to make this more balanced towards the majority of players."

This was a very interesting server with a concept I personally was not familiar with at all. It had some really nice features that I hope will remain in some way in the upcoming version of the server as I've understood that it's unlikely to come back without any changes to the gameplay.
Please keep in mind that these are my reflections and that some things simply are my impressions and not facts. Thanks everyone involved for an interesting server, both allies and enemies! It has been fun
Features
I really like the forwarding feature. It simply makes sense and brings in more options for teamplay.
With similar reasoning I think the regional system giving a lot more players access to artefacts and added incitements for fights throughout the server is really good.
Several diets/boots also result in more resources.) I think some sort of limitation should be in place to make this more balanced towards the majority of players.
About the actual server
First things first, congratulations to TM. You were quite clearly the strongest and most well prepared alliance for all the things that mattered the most for winning the server. You leveraged your position of being pre-formed and having a team with many good accounts into an early lead in the VP race.
From what I've understood you won the early battle with BA for some regions which likely played a large role in your ability to get a sizeable lead against them. Similarly you took Argentorate and Mogontiacum from us in Lords A before we were ready to really fight back in any way. In that sense your offensive capabilities did what it had to do. Although I think your strongest characteristics as an alliance was your ability to continuously settle new regions and quickly rebuild most of the damage you took.
From an outside perspective BA looked quite similar to TM at the start, although a slightly weaker version. BA also came here as a pre-formed alliance and much like TM settled new regions at an impressive rate. I think allying with BA to make the VP race an actual race all the way was the right move as neither side was strong enough alone. There were several factors playing a part in our shortcomings, but we fought well together and there were days it looked realistic before we ultimately fell short.
I think our main issue in Lords stemmed from the Meta consisting of separate alliances that never quite overcame that and really became one entity. I am not entirely sure what the main reasons were, but I think we had enough good players in Lords to be able to compete - in theory. Strong leaders and structure don't fall in place over night though and as often is the case, we didn't manage to fulfill our potential.
Lords D was probably the group who had it the roughest from the major alliances, but they remained all the way to the end and contributed with as much as they could in terms of hammers and regions. That's very respectable in my opinion and I believe many teams would have quit in their position. Lords W on the other hand had a quite easy ride through the server. They ended as the largest of the original Lords wings and quite likely had the most troops in our Meta. There were mainly a couple of defensive accounts that stuck out and did a brilliant job.
For Lords A I'll say that it looked very bleak all the way up to somewhere around Christmas where it felt like we were under a lot of pressure from TM. We lost both Argentorate and Mogontiacum fairly quickly without putting up much of a fight. The Brick should have cred here for being the only consistent leader to remain from the tough time all the way to the end. Without a single solid reference point for the alliance I don't think there would have been much left. Instead we did a strong team effort and for the second half of the server we handled ourselves well.
Throughout this server we have been called a lot of demeaning things by various people. It would have been easy to give up, but we hung in there and turned things around. I think some people who have played in pre-formed alliances for too long forget how hard it can be to go through the progress of building an alliance from scratch and building up trust for one another etc. Considering our performance for the second part of the server where we walled several TM hammers and made good work offensively - I can say with certainty that I am proud over our progress and our performance! While some other people that have acted like bullies should take a moment to think about their own actions.
It's fine to play in a pre-formed alliance and it's fine to be proud over your own alliance, but don't forget your humility. We're all people trying to enjoy this game on our spare time.
Murx was without doubt the strongest team offensively on the server. I can't remember the last time I saw an alliance call "white flag" on the forum. Unfortunately their defensive side of the game remain quite untested as they weren't a realistic contender in the VP race and teams focused their efforts elsewhere. As I can't possibly know whether the ban of Irrsinn was correct or not I'll simply say that it was unfortunate we did not get to see Murx attempt to take Segestica from Lords W. It would have been very interesting to see how Lords would stand up to that and to see Murx' attacks.
