Winning by faction, yes.
But mainly - winning by alliance points in this winning faction, which is way harder. To achieve that players at times will have to sacrifice for example some powers that give nice bonus to the alliance to the region that gives most points, make strategic decisions whether they should go let's say for Carthago (Unique boots - 20 points) or Hibernia (200 points) early in the game to be top-lead.
LoL, you just don't get it what is wrong there...
Seems nobody care much about the game, discussion here is going too slow (because we have nobody here to talk with) and i doubt some basic things as VP leadeboard will be fixed on time (we do not see how much VP/day alliances have for example). I do not plan to waste 180 days on playing half-ready version of this game, like i waste this last days on playing beta server where nobody is interested to listen our player's opinions...

Here is said that server will win 1 ALLIANCE who have most VP in Faction with most VP - but we do not see that clearly in server statistic...
We see 1 FACTION on the throne, not alliance... For alliance we do not see one global VP list where we could compare with others and check the standings. We need to click on faction to see top 10 alliances there but that are only alliances from that faction. We can not see even how much VP/day alliance produce...
If to that you add this to that:

then I'm afraid people will be more focused just to be part of winning faction and then to win server will more be important quantity then quality.
Yes, i believe with current display of VP rankings majority of players will be satisfied to be no.5 in winning faction, or no.10, no.999... And in end we could see more then half of accounts on server to be part of just 1 faction.

They just stated there now that they looking into this issue.
Faction get VP per day depending on how much % biggest alliance of that faction hold in that region. That is weird
And that same alliance get full 100VP/day for themselves.... Hard to find logic here

no point to try fix the game, where you can register as many accounts you want...
Also would like to see some changes regarding inactive accounts.
If nobody log in (owner or sitter) for 48 hrs - account should switch automatically to vacation mode until someone log in again.
Lot of benefits imo
- motivate players to be more active
- if something suddenly happen in your RL and you are not able to log in for few days, when you come back your account is not totally destroyed
- need more effort to hold a region as account in vacation mode do not contribute to the regional pop
- force off players to search extra resources by raiding more active players = more fights

Yes, it should be random location of regional powers, but maybe not totally random. If all boots are in one place of map would not be good, need to have some rule that regions with same powers can not be next to each other.
But most important is to have smaller map for codex, 400x400 max
If thief would ran out through that door, there would be no books laying on the floor next to that door...
